Overview
Hueboard is a Chrome extension that extracts dominant colours from a webpage and displays them as a colour palette. Hueboard scans a webpage only when you ask it to, such as when you click the extension or use a scan or rescan action.
This policy explains how Hueboard handles the Chrome Web Store data categories disclosed for the extension: website content, web history, and authentication information.
Data Hueboard Processes
Website content
When you click the extension or use a scan or rescan action, Hueboard may capture the visible part of the active tab and read visible page colour and style information. This website content is used to generate the colour palette shown in the extension.
Web history
Hueboard may use the active tab URL, page host, or saved palette URL/title so it can label palettes and help you recognise saved palettes later. Hueboard does not automatically scan every website you visit or run background browsing surveillance.
Authentication information
If you activate Hueboard Pro, the licence key you enter is sent to Hueboard's backend only to check whether Pro access is valid. The extension stores the resulting Pro status locally after successful activation.
Local extension data
Saved palettes, theme preference, and Pro status are stored locally in your browser using Chrome storage. Saved palettes may include palette colours, colour percentages, saved time, and the related page URL/title.
How Hueboard Uses This Data
Hueboard uses this data only to provide its disclosed user-facing features:
- Generating colour palettes from the active tab when you scan.
- Displaying HEX, RGB, and colour percentage values.
- Copying colour values or generated palette code when you request it.
- Saving, renaming, opening, deleting, and exporting palettes.
- Remembering your theme preference and local Pro activation status.
- Validating Hueboard Pro licence keys.
Visible-tab captures and page colour/style data are used for palette generation. Saved palettes, theme preference, and Pro status are stored locally in your browser using Chrome storage. Saved palettes may include palette colours and the related page URL/title so you can recognise them later.
Licence Keys And Payments
Licence keys are sent to Hueboard's backend only to check whether Pro access is valid. Payment processing is handled separately by Stripe. Hueboard does not collect card numbers or full payment details inside the extension.
After a Hueboard Pro purchase, Hueboard may receive purchase confirmation details needed to create and deliver a licence key, such as email address, Stripe checkout session ID, Stripe customer ID, licence key, product, and licence status.
Sharing And Service Providers
Hueboard does not sell user data. Hueboard shares data only with service providers needed to provide the extension's disclosed features:
- Stripe handles Hueboard Pro payments. Hueboard does not collect card numbers or full payment details inside the extension.
- Hueboard's backend, hosted on Vercel, validates Pro licence keys.
- Supabase stores Hueboard Pro licence records needed to validate access.
- Resend sends Hueboard Pro licence emails after purchase.
- Chrome local extension storage stores saved palettes, theme preference, and Pro status on your device.
What Hueboard Does Not Do
Hueboard does not sell user data. Hueboard does not use user data for personalised advertising. Hueboard does not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose. Hueboard does not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Hueboard does not automatically scan every site you visit. Webpage scanning happens only when you interact with the extension. Hueboard does not run background browsing surveillance.
Local Storage And Deletion
Saved palettes, theme preference, and Pro status are stored in Chrome local extension storage on your device. You can delete saved palettes in the extension. You can also remove locally stored extension data by uninstalling Hueboard or clearing the extension's storage data through Chrome.
Hueboard Pro purchase and licence records are retained as needed to provide Pro access, support purchases, prevent fraud, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations.
Security
Licence validation requests are sent over HTTPS. Hueboard keeps visible-tab capture and page colour/style analysis limited to the palette generation feature, and limits extension permissions to the active tab, scripting access needed for colour extraction, local storage, and the Hueboard licence validation endpoint.
Limited Use Statement
Hueboard's use of information received from Chrome extension permissions is limited to providing and improving its single-purpose, user-facing colour extraction, palette saving, export, and Pro licence features. Hueboard does not use or transfer this information for personalised advertising, retargeting, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.
