Overview

Hueboard is a Chrome extension that analyzes the visible viewport of the active tab to extract a color palette. The core color scanning, palette generation, clipboard copying, PNG export, and saved palette features run locally in your browser.

Hueboard does not sell personal data, does not use extension data for advertising, and does not include analytics or tracking code in the extension.

Information Hueboard Handles

Visible tab color data

When you run a scan, Hueboard captures the visible portion of the active browser tab and reads computed color styles from visible page elements. This is used only to create the color palette shown in the popup. Screenshot data and page style data are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to Hueboard servers.

Saved palettes and preferences

If you save a palette, Hueboard stores the saved page URL, display title or host, palette colors, color percentages, and saved time in Chrome local extension storage on your device. Hueboard also stores your theme preference and whether Pro is active in Chrome local extension storage.

License activation data

If you activate Hueboard Pro, the license key you enter is sent to Hueboard's license validation endpoint to confirm whether it is active. The extension stores only the resulting Pro status locally after a successful activation.

Purchase data

If you buy Hueboard Pro, payment is handled by Stripe. After a successful purchase, Hueboard receives purchase confirmation details needed to create and deliver a license key, including your email address, Stripe checkout session ID, Stripe customer ID, license key, product, and license status.

How Hueboard Uses Information

Hueboard uses information only to provide its user-facing features:

  • Extracting colors from the visible active tab.
  • Displaying HEX, RGB, and color percentage values.
  • Copying color values or generated palette code when you request it.
  • Saving, renaming, opening, deleting, and exporting your local palettes.
  • Remembering your theme preference and local Pro activation status.
  • Validating and delivering Hueboard Pro license keys.

Information Sharing

Hueboard does not sell your information and does not share extension scanning data with advertisers or analytics providers. The following service providers process data only as needed to operate Hueboard:

  • Stripe, for payment checkout and payment processing.
  • Supabase, for storing Hueboard Pro license records.
  • Resend, for sending Hueboard Pro license emails.
  • Vercel, for hosting Hueboard's license validation and purchase webhook endpoints.
  • Chrome extension storage on your device, for saved palettes, theme preference, and Pro status.

Website And Browsing Data

Hueboard uses Chrome's active tab permission only when you open the extension and run a scan. The extension may access the active tab's visible screenshot, URL or host, and computed color styles from visible elements so it can generate the palette. Hueboard does not collect your browsing history, does not monitor background browsing, and does not transmit scanned screenshots, DOM content, palette colors, saved palette URLs, or browsing history to Hueboard servers.

Local Storage And Deletion

Saved palettes, theme preference, and Pro status are stored in Chrome local extension storage on your device. You can delete saved palettes in the extension. You can also remove locally stored extension data by uninstalling Hueboard or clearing the extension's site and storage data through Chrome.

Hueboard Pro purchase and license records are retained as needed to provide license access, support purchases, prevent fraud, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations.

Security

License validation requests are sent over HTTPS. Hueboard keeps scanning data local to your browser and limits extension permissions to the active tab, scripting access needed for color extraction, local storage, and the Hueboard license validation endpoint.

Limited Use Statement

Hueboard's use of information received from Chrome extension permissions is limited to providing and improving its single-purpose, user-facing color extraction, palette saving, export, and Pro license features. Hueboard does not use or transfer this information for personalized advertising, retargeting, creditworthiness, lending, or unrelated purposes.
